Senior Associate

Daniel Rivera

Daniel Rivera is a cross-border corporate and regulatory lawyer with over 9 years of experience. As Senior Associate at Ixian Services in the Próspera ZEDE, Honduras’ common law-based special economic jurisdiction, he advises founders, funds, and operating companies on entity formation, trust structures, regulatory elections, and financial services licensing inside one of the world’s most innovative regulatory environments. He pairs that with a business development mandate at Ixian Consulting in Vancouver, giving clients a single point of contact across North and Central America.

Daniel began his career at Consortium Legal in Tegucigalpa, Central America’s leading regional legal firm, before moving in-house as Legal Coordinator for Grupo K, one of Honduras’ largest corporate groups. He returned to private practice as an Associate at Dentons Muñoz Zacapa, the Honduran office of the world’s largest law firm, where he worked on managing due diligence and cross-border regulatory risk. In 2022 he founded Media by Law, a legal services venture he led as Chief Executive and Legal Officer for over two years, an experience that shaped his operator’s view of legal work: advice has to survive contact with a real business.

His background covers diverse disciplines, including Intellectual Property, Corporate Law, Labour, and Litigation & Arbitration, having advised international structures, growth financings, and compliance strategies for multiple industry sectors, including Energy, Real Estate, and Finances.

His current practice concentrates on the legal architecture of new jurisdictions and new technologies. Daniel has structured trust companies under Próspera’s financial services framework, drafted fiscal residency contracts under specialized tax regimes, designed tiered compliance programs for digital asset and gaming platforms, and built contractor and governance frameworks for autonomous city developments. He works extensively with Web3 and blockchain clients on token structures, investment agreements, and licensing. He also serves as Community Lead of Superteam Canada in Vancouver, where he is embedded in the Solana builder ecosystem.

A trained arbitrator certified by the Conciliation and Arbitration Center of Tegucigalpa, Daniel combines civil-law training from Honduras with common-law education in Canada; a dual perspective that defines how he drafts: precisely, bilingually, and with the dispute two years away already in view. He is based in Metro Vancouver, British Columbia.
